AEGINA Nearby Athens and a
favorite of yachtsmen, with a busy year round town, Aegina is popular
with Athenians on the weekends and gets quite lively at night. The
fish and fruit market close to the port are reminiscent of a bazaar.
Above Agia Marina are the remains of the Temple of Aphaia.
MONI AEGINA
It's a small uninhabited island whose wooded slopes are a sanctuary
for wild life. Swimming in the green waters here while watching peacocks
at the shore is a common treat.
POROS
This picturesque islet separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow
channel, is often a visitor's favorite. Beyond the lively café
and water sports life, Poros offers beautiful pine forests that come
right down to the beach.

HYDRA
A mountainous island that has a historic port town in the traditional
amphitheater shape attracts visitors year round. Hydra has been preserved
to its appearance as it was in the 1800's, a time of great prosperity.
A former jet setter haven and still popular with the rich and famous,
Hydra suits the party animal and the serenity seeker alike. With no
cars (but plenty of donkeys!) the days are peaceful and many visitors
like to sit by the waterfront at one of the town's many cafés
or tavernas. Crowds fill the many clubs and tavernas at night.

An island green
with pine trees and lemon groves and a beautiful old harbor Spetes
shines with neo-Classic mansions.
NAFPLION
The ex-capital of Greece,
is divided into new and old town sections and filled with Roman, Byzantine
and Venetian civilization. Sights: Castles from each civilization.
MONEMVASIA
A Byzantine area of Greece connected to the Peloponnese
by a strip of land; Monemvasia is where you will find the remains
of an old fortress wall and numerous Byzantine churches. It is a must
for visitors who love history.
ELAFONISOS
An islet close to Kithira
well known for white sandy beaches, Elafonisos has turquoise crystal
waters and fresh fish.
KITHIRA
Known since antiquity as the island
of Aphrodite, it Kithira is south of Peloponnese and well known for
white pebbled beaches and clear blue waters. Sights: The remains of
Venetian towers.
PYLOS An historic and attractive town known for
the battle of Navarino, Philos is where a Turkish fleet was destroyed.
Sights: Castles and underwater antiquities visible by snorkeling.
KYPARISSIA
A beautiful town, Kyparissia is divided into the new and
old cities, surrounded by green valleys and fertile land. Sights:
Castles.
